Jane Triche-Milazzo, District Judge for the 23rd Judicial District Court, was sworn in office on August 1, 2008, as the first female judge elected to the 23rd judicial district bench. Judge Triche-Milazzo is married to John Milazzo, Jr., and has 4 children and 2 step-children; they have 1 grandchild. She is the daughter of Risley "Pappy" and Clara Triche of Napoleonville, Louisiana.
Judge Triche-Milazzo attended Assumption High School and graduated with a B.A. from Nicholls State University in 1977, magna cum laude. She graduated from LSU law school in 1992. After law school graduation, she immediately went into practice with her family, Law Offices of Risley Triche, in Napoleonville, where she engaged in a general practice.
During her years in private practice, Judge Triche-Milazzo was active in several legal organizations and served as president of both the Assumption Parish Bar Association and the Twenty-third Judicial District Bar Association. She was also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates where she served as a member of the Legislative Committee and as chair in 2007.
Judge Triche-Milazzo is a member of the LSU Law School Board of Trustees, American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal Bar Association, 23rd Judicial District Bar Association, Baton Rouge Bar Association, National Association of Women Judges, and Louisiana District Court Judges Association.
